A New Way to use the Passi Leash!

My Chunka is NOT big into his passi ~~only at 3am~~ but he is WAY in to toys he can chew on! I was tired of picking up the toy of the day when it fell out of his mouth! SO I busted out my passi leash stash and what do ya know it works AWESOME as leash for his toys!!!

The sweet moms over at Boogie Wipes sent me a pack of their Achooz to try and I L-O-V-E them! A few weeks ago I had a HORRIBLE cold and I was SO thrilled that I had this pack of Achooz waiting for my poor nose!!! These are AMAZING, the menthol sooths the nose and the saline softens it all up and leaves your nose protected from becoming raw! They smell so good ~~I discovered that ONCE I could smell again~~. So, when you are under the weather send someone out to get you some Achooz, your nose will thank me later!! But stay well! xoxo
P.S- I am still waiting for the moms at Boogie Wipes to make me a shampoo that smells like their original sent, hint hint ;)

Who Needs Eggs?

We had some OLD banana's that were crying to me to make them into banana bread. I was set on NOT going to the store. What did I do? I asked facebook and the recipes came rolling in. I found a couple I liked and started to combine a few to use what I had at home. Once it was time for the eggs I realized we were OUT! SO I facebooked again and was told to use apple sauce and I DID. This Banana Bread is OH so good! Thanks friends for ALL your help! What would I do without FB? Banana Bread just Use What YOU Got!!

Pulled Pork Recipe:

-2 pound pork tenderloin pre marinaded

-BBQ sauce

-Spaghetti Sauce

-Frozen chopped onion

-Minced garlic

-Old Bay

-Salt and Pepper

-Dash of Tabasco

Pull the pork and make sandwiches!

Leftover Pizza Lasagna

We had a bunch of leftover pizza from last night and I wanted to make a NEW meal out of it so I looked around and combined several recipes to make one.

Yocum Leftover Pizza Lasagna

-Leftover pizza
-Pyrex
-Spaghetti Sauce
-Ricotta
-Meats and/or veggies
-Whipped Cream Cheese
-Cheddar Cheese
-Parmesan Cheese

Pre heat over to 350.
1. Spread some spaghetti sauce on the bottom of Pyrex
2. Lay pizza face up on top
3. Add: Sauce, ricotta, whipped cream cheese, meat or veggies
4. Place pizza face down
5. Add: Sauce, cheddar cheese, and Parmesan cheese
6. Cover and bake at 350 for 40min
7. Uncover and bake for 10min
8. Let cool and serve!

Chunk is the typical 2nd child, very laid back and independent! He has always liked holding his own bottle and with a 2 yr old running around I like having my hand free sometimes. I have been looking for a baby bottle holder and I found one that I thought was cute and made by a fellow etsy crafter! Our Bizzy Bib came today and it is MORE amazing then I thought! Chunk thinks it is WAY fun and it has been a HUGE help!!! This darling item is $25 plus shipping and you can use it in many different positions.

Here are the two ways we have used it so far!!

Outside Fun

We had our "Midland" BFFL over today for a play date! The weather WAS amazing, nice, sunny, and 70 for ummmm 30min, THEN the cold front blew in!!! We have had cabin fever so I thought WE NEEDED on outdoor play date. Tiny has been begging for C to come over to paint since CHRISTMAS DAY. Today WAS the date for out paint and sidewalk chalk play date!!!
I WAS going to bake some brownies for us BUT with Tiny Bit More I did not have time so I PRE made some fun ice cream with chocolate and sprinkles!!! The boys and moms LOVED it ~~the mom's cup was such a tease...just ONE scoop!!!!~~

Here are pictures of my EASY, use what you have, outdoor play date!!!

The Snack: I made this before the play date and just froze them!

It is class Valentine time!! This year I decided I needed to keep it simple and wanted Tiny to be able to help me. SO, we hit the Target dollar isle and Valentine section. Then I placed an order with my MOST favorite "custom party decor" Ciao Bambino.

We are all set to get our Valentines on!!!

Here is what you need:

-Tin Mail box from Target
-Sticker Gift Tag from Ciao Bambino
-Pen to write friend's name
-Stickers to decorate
-Ribbon for the bow
-Goodies for inside the mail box

BreakFAST Casserole

Have i told yall lately how much I heart Facebook? It is my new WebMD and Food network, it is full of information!! My sweet Baylor friend/roomie posted a Breakfast Casserole on FB and I love me some bfast casserole. I do get frustrated because most of the recipes I have you have to make it the night before. NOT THIS ONE! YIPPPEEE! I don't function well before 10am so I am making it for lunch today! I changed a few steps and items to use what we had! Here we go!

Pern's BreakFAST Casserole Yocum Style:

1. Crescent rolls (1 tube) lay flat on bottom of square glass pan like a pie crust (Spray with non stick spray 1st)
2. Brown
-1 pound sausage
- 1/3 of the bag of frozen chopped onion
-Add Salt, Pepper, and Oh! So Garlic (more on this yumminess next week)
3. In a Large bowl mix
-2 eggs
-2 cups of thawed hash browns
-salt and pepper
-browned sausage mixture
4. Pour on top of crescent rolls in the pan
5. Top with
-6 slices of cheese

6. Top with
-Crescent Rolls (1 tube)

7. Bake at 350 till the egg isn't runny looking (30 minutes)

8. Eat and ENJOY!

Carrie's recipe she posted: Crescent rolls (4) lay flat on bottom of square glass pan like a pie crust, brown sausage with chopped onion and mix with 2 eggs and 1.5-2 cups shredded cheese. (I put hash browns in it too). Add pepper and salt however you like and pour on top of crescent rolls in the pan. Then put the remaining four rolls on top stretched out. Bake at 350 till the egg isn't runny looking (about 20-30 minutes)

This recipe is FOR SURE a keeper! It is AMAZING!!!

Tiny LOVES frozen peas, yes frozen. STRAIGHT-OUT-OF-THE-BAG-IN-HIS-MOUTH FROZEN! Tiny also loves grapes so I was thinking he would like them frozen but the grapes were NOT bite size so I decided to cut them up THEN freeze them!! HUGE HIT, Tiny and I BOTH love them!!!!! It is our new favorite treat and great to do with grapes when it is almost time to throw them out.

Don't forget to label the ziplock with the date!

1- When you are in the middle of laundrypalooza you alternate a load of clothes with a load of towels. TRUST me it helps SO much with the folding and putting away part.

A Bakers Dozen

Well, I have to admit I was THRILLED to find out that a Bakers Dozen is 13! Yes, THANK you McDonald's for teaching me something new!!! On my cheat day, we went to get a burger and when I was ordering I saw their new promotion for their fresh baked cookies! I thought I would get a couple. When I was ordering I discovered I could get a Bakers Dozen (13) for $3.99. UMMMM $3.99 YES PLEASE. Ok these are awesome. The Hubs is NOT a big McD's fan but he had to admit (4 cookies later) that the cookies were a-ma-zing! Tiny has had his hand in the cookie box 1 to many times, they are ALL gone!!! I hear I need to try their oatmeal. I will keep yall posted. Alright, head to McDonald's Drive Thru and get yourself a cute box of their yummy chocolate chip cookies!!! Y-U-M!

The Weelicious Crock Pot Black Bean Soup

I am OBSESSED with this soup! I have now made it twice and have even eaten ALL the frozen left overs that I "saved". This Black Bean Soup and Chili are two items I MUST have in my freezer at ALL times!
Weelicious is an AMAZING blog that post TONS of healthily recipes for children. Well, I am 30 and trying to eat better so this is my diet meal plan recipe spot! Tiny already eats healthy and the Hubs is SO picky I don't even try with him!

Here is their great Crock Pot (which I love all things made in a crock pot) Black Bean Soup!

{Recipe is via the Weelicious website}

Crock Pot Black Bean Soup (Serves 6)

1 Tbsp Olive Oil
1 Onion, diced
3 Garlic Cloves, chopped
2 Cups Dried Black Beans, soaked overnight, rinsed and drained
1 32 oz Chicken Broth or Vegetable Stock, low sodium
1/4 Cup Cilantro, chopped
2 Bay Leaves
2 Tsp Kosher Salt
1 Cup Water

Accompaniments: Yogurt, Sour Cream, Crème Fraiche

1. Heat oil in a sauté pan over medium heat and sauté onions for 4 minutes.
2. Add chopped garlic and sauté an additional minute.
3. Place the onion garlic mixture into the crock pot along with the rest of the ingredients and stir to combine.
4. Cook on low for 8-10 hours.
5. Using either a hand blender or traditional blender, puree the ingredients to your desired texture (I like to get it so a few pieces of beans are still visible so the soup is thick and still has a bit of texture).
6. Top with a dollop of yogurt, sour cream or crème fraiche.
7. Serve.

Time to bust out that crock pot, soak some black beans, slow cook, and ENJOY! Thank you Weelicious for all your GREAT recipes!

Ava the Elephant is our new BFF! I was sent this darling medicine dispenser to test and review and we are in LOVE. You can find miss Ava at your local CVS for about $10. She is AWESOME. Tiny loves to play with her even when it is NOT medicine time!

How does she work you ask? SO easy!

-Fill the dropper with the amount of meds your darling needs

-Place the dropper it the "trunk" of Ava

-Press the button

-Ava will say "1, 2, 3 Open Wide! Good Job!"

-Place her trunk in your darlings mouth

-Squeeze the dropper top

-All DONE!!!

***When using her for the 1st time before placing the medicine dropper in the trunk let your darling "play" with Ava so he will understand what she does!

Yall, this is such a neat item and is now a MUST have in our medicine cabinet!! When Tiny sees her he yells, "1,2,3 GOOD JOB!" it is SO cute!!! So head to your local CVS and pick one up today!

A School Art Tip

Are you tired of all the papers that are sent home from school? I AM, and Tiny does NOT like me to throw anything away but we HAVE too! Not sure what show I saw this on BUT I LOVE this idea. TAKE A PICTURE of your muffins work, then print the photos and put them in a picture album for that year! Cool huh?

A FUN Sippy Bottle!

I found these FUN Tummy Tickler sippy juice bottles at HEB for about $2.00. They have different fun tops. We got the Thomas the Tr@in and B@b the Builder! BUT they have all sorts of good characters! I thought these would be fun for a play date or even party favors. On Tuesdays I try to always take James a "treat" ~~Mommy guilt~~ when I pick him up from Mother's Day Out and he gets WAY excited when he sees a new sippy bottle on in his chair! The cool part is that you can take the figure off the top and wash it ALL (on the top shelf)and reuse this FUN sippy bottle.
*The juice is NOT that great so now I just pour it out and fill it with something else.

Roasted Pumpkin Seeds

Roasted Pumpkin Seeds
-Remove seeds from pumpkin and wash them with water
-Put on a cookie sheet covered with foil
-Pour some EVOO over the seeds
-Add salt, pepper, and creole seasoning
-Dash on some Worcestershire Sauce
-Mix
-Place in oven for 10min on 350 degrees

Quesadilla Casserole

Last night I made the Quesadilla Casserole from McCormick's: Recipe Inspirations and it was SO YUMMY! The packs are about $1.50, that includes the pre-measured spices and the recipe. This was SO fun, well I thought so. So go to your local grocery store and stock up. I think these would be the BEST to make and take to a friend who is needing a yummy meal!

I would change the name to Enchilada Casserole....it does NOT remind me of a quesadilla BUT STILL so GOOD!

*Here is what I did different from the recipe:

-Added salt and pepper when browning the meat

-I did NOT add green chiles

-I DID drain the corn and used a 15oz can not the smaller one

-I added MORE salt and pepper to the beef mixture

-I used CORN tortillas

-I did NOT use the crushed red peppers

Finger Paint!

Tiny ~~NOW~~ loves to finger paint!!! The 1st time we tried it he was NOT a fan because it was messy! He still does not like the mess but starting to enjoy it! He will start with one finger to warm up then all of them and has a BLAST. He just yells, "Paint, Paint, Paint" or "Bluuuuuuuee"!

I am in LOVE with the Crayola new finger paint. It NOW comes in cool squirt containers and washes up great! I found ours at Target for about $5.00. It is SO fun and with this heat it is a wonderful INDOOR activity!

For the Lunch Box

I still have a VERY picky eater on my hands SO thinking about lunches for MDO is STRESSING me out! Weeks leading up to MDO we will be testing out items to put in his lunch besides, hot dogs, corn dogs, and grilled cheese, the ONLY foods I know he will eat! Healthy huh????

I want to send yogurt and cheese BUT concerned about the MESS and he will not eat cheese unless it is melted or mixed in eggs.
SO, what to do???
I came across Dan-o-nino the Dairy Snack! James LOVES them! They are little and thick and he is able feed himself and NOT make much of a mess!!! Dan-o-ninos have 2Xs the calcium of milk and Vitamin D!
The Dan-o-nino's WILL be in his MDO lunch and my NEW Mommies Favorite Find!! Yippee!

Any ideas for picky eaters let me know!

Bounce Sheets

Yes Yes I know, Bounce Sheets are NOT a new Mommies favorite find and YES I use them daily ~~well, when I do laundry, twice a week :/~~ BUT I have a NEW use for them. I have been told that they are a GREAT way to freshen up your smelly car! I never thought twice about this fun fact until this week. The sweet Mr. decided to vacuum out my ~~NASTY~~ car and boy it looks great!But, I will agree with him that is SMELLS like a dead animal. So instead of paying $5.00 for a car fragrance hanging, tacky, and normally make your car smell like a port-a-potty thing, I thew in 3 Bounce sheets under the seats and in the way back. And BOY does my car smell so so fresh! It also makes me want to do some wash ;)
So if you have a smelly situation just pull out a Bounce sheet or two!!

Wicked Whoopies!

OMG! My Sister-in-Love and Brother-in-Love sent the Mr. and I a BOX of Wicked Whoopies for our 30th birthday!!!!! I had NEVER seen or heard of these, have you??? They are AMAZING!!!! Tiny and I inhaled our 1st one in about T-4 seconds! You can order all sorts of flavors and amounts. The variety box will be my NEW gift to send. They are $28 for a dozen!!! I think that is a GREAT price, after eating one I would pay double! So YUMMY! I need to have another, Tiny2 told me too!

Honey Mustard Garlic Dressing

Today I hosted Lunch Bunch at our home. I had a "Pizza Bar" where everyone made their own mini pizza. It was a big hit, so much fun, and EASY.

BUT my most favorite part was my friend's homemade Honey Mustard Garlic Dressing. She was so sweet to bring it and I almost drank the dressing it was that good. Here is her recipe!!!

Honey Mustard Garlic Dressing

-1/2 tsp finely chopped garlic

-1 tbs honey

-1 tbs Dijon mustard (I used spicy brown today)

-2 tbs lemon juice

-5 tbs olive oil

Mix all ingredients. Good for one week in fridge. If the dressing has too much of a vinegary taste, add a little more oil.

THE Time Out Stool

I decided to make Tiny his own cute Time Out Stool.Yall this WORKS! We have used it twice tonight with a timer set for 1 minute (a minute for how old) and he sat there, not so happy, but he did it. I am thinking about making them for Tiny Bit More, we will see! I bought the stool at Target for about $15.00 and painted it during nap time! Let me know if you think people would buy it!

Tiny thinks these are the coolest toys EVER! We are now doing craft time once a day and these are just perfect for his little hands ~~that HATES to get messy~~!! 1.Tape the paper down to the table

2.Wet Wipe clean up the stray marks in a jiffy!

3.Because we are crafting daily, I keep all his crayons, stamps, paper, tape, etc. in a CUTE bowl in the center of the table. This also reminds me to do craft time.

Mom and I had the pleasure to host a table at our church's annual Table Top Luncheon. Every table is uniquely decorated by different hosts. When everyone comes they take a tour of all the tables, have a yummy lunch, and listen to amazing, christian women speak on friendship. It was such a joy to work with mom on this table and so fun to have a lovely lunch with dear friends. Mom and dad came out on Friday to help me set up and I think our table turned out so sweet and perfect! Our theme was, "Jesus is the Lamb".

Mr: Oh, I like the portion control idea!!

Too bad I ate TWO of the meatloaf muffins and the Mr. only ate one :/

How to make some UGLY but YUMMY Meatloaf Muffins that your Mr. will think are meatballs :)

Jill's Meatloaf Recipe
2 lbs lean hamburger meat
1 Egg beaten with 3 tbs milk or half & half
3 teaspoon minced garlic
1 Squirt mustard
Few dashes of Worcestershire sauce
1 and 1/4 cups bread crumbs (Progresso Italian style)
1 pkg Knorr dry vegetable mix
1 Can of Tomato Sauce

The Muffin Part
-Spray a 12 cup muffin tin with Pam
-Place a little tomato sauce in each cup
-Scoop 2 spoon fulls of the mixture in each cup to the top
-Cover each cup with tomato sauce
-Bake at 350, uncovered for about 45min or until meat is done

ENJOY! We eat this about once a week with Gooey Potatoes! If yall are sweet I will post that recipe soon :)

Tiny is NOT a boy for milk products BUT now he LOVES his GoGurt. He loves to crawl in my lap and with my help eat his GoGurt. WARNING- it could be MESSY! You can find them at your local grocery store and they come in yummy flavors. If your children are older you can freeze them and put them in their lunch box and by lunch time they are ready to eat. I like to eat them frozen, kinda like ice cream but healthy! Go Go Go get you some Gogurt!

The Grocery Store Flowers!
My sweet friend was put on bed rest and I wanted to take her flowers BUT it was Sunday and there were NO Flower Shops open on Sunday so off to my favorite store Wally-Mart. But there was NO way I was taking them to her in the clear plastic wrap. So this is what I did and this is what you will need!

-1 Dozen Roses ($10.00)

-2 Paper Towels
-Tape
-Tissue Paper
-Cute Wrapping Paper
-Tulle

ALL THESE WERE FOUND IN MY WRAPPING CLOSET SO THEY WERE FREE!

1. Arrange the flowers the way you like them and wrap the ends with your paper towels.

2. Wrap them with tissue and close with tape.

3. Wrap the wrapping paper lower then the tissue. Leave the bottom free.
Back

4. Add your tulle in a cute bow.

There you have some pretty flowers! I also gave her a book I had read and tied a cute tulle bow around it!

While in Dallas I ran into the Tom Thumb for some wipes and they did not have my Huggies so I settled for these Mom to Mom wipes I had no idea about them. I was SO unsure about them because the were cheap and I don't know I just like my cucumber Huggies. I get them home open them up and I fall in love! So just HAD to blog about them and while researching them I came to find out they are the Tom Thumb brand!!!! You must go try out these wipes they are amazing! Here is another Walmart Tip!!

As you may know or not know I have started sewing. I have learned that the 1st attempt to a new project is full of learning and many mistakes. Even though my "take 2" might not be perfect but it is a TON better! I was sad to mess up on the "good" material for the 1st round. Yes, people tell me to practice on scrap fabric but it is just not the same. To practice on the "real" deal or very similar you are able to work out all the kinks!

At the Wally Mart yesterday I was excited to find a bag of 5 Fruit of the Loom boy t-shirts for about $7. Much to my dismay when I got home I open up the pack and you can see through them, you can see your hand through the fabric and even see their iron on label through the back of the shirt!!! SO I knew I could not sell or give aways my crafty shirts on this material. Solution: They are now my "1st try" shirts!

I LOVE the brand Garaniamls at Wal-Mart. They are made from great, thick, and sturdy cotton. James have been wearing them forever! The short seelves run about $3 and the long sleeve are about $3.50. They come in great, rich colors! I buy J a white one almost every time I got to Wallymart!

If I knew any better, I would have JUST bought this booster and NOT my BIG high chair! I LOVE the Fisher Price Healthy Care Booster! I keep it in my car and take with us EVERY place we go. J is not one to just sit at the part or on the floor and eat, so I bring out the booster. It is wonderful for travel, the park, a play date! It washes great in the dishwasher! Oh, how I wish I saved the $99 from my high chair and only had this great easy to use and clean $20 booster!

We have a King size bed and I can NEVER bring myself to buy new sheet because I do not want to spend $100. The other day I saw a Wal-Mart commercial and they were introducing their new line: Canopy for bedding. They are made with Egyptian Cotton, 400 thread count (I know not that high but...), and say that more you wash the softer they get. So I ran out and got us some for about $50!!!! I was so thrilled Big J was a little leery about them but after I washed them and put them on he was sold! They are amazing and feel so so good! I am going to go get another set I loved them so much!!

J is 100% in LOVE with his Whisper Ride Buggy. When he woke up and came down the stairs and saw his buggy his eyes got so big and started to giggle. He loves to ride in his buggy and honk the horn. He even pulls it into the TV room and sits in it to watch Yo Gabba Gabba. Too cute! This would be a great 1st or 2nd birthday present or even better, under the tree!! J LOVES his Munchkin: My 1st Cup!
This is the ONLY sippy cup J will drink out of! AND trust me we have tried them ALL. He just LOVES them and the 10oz is great for when they MASTER the 8oz! J feels like a BIG boy with the 10oz because there are NO handles. I can not wait for my labels to get in so I can LABEL his sippy cups, the ones we have now are too big and come off. For the 1st few months of J's mobility the simple plug cover was plenty for us. Well, J found out that when a cord is plugged in that he LIKES to pull them out :/ So for about a month I had pillows and blankets covering our sockets when cords were plugged in. J is smart like his Dadda and realized quick what was behind that pillow/blanket tent! So I was talking with Big J about inventing an outlet cover for when a cord is plugged in...Great Idea Right??? YES!! The Gymboree Bubbles are a MUST have in our house!!!

We play with these bubbles daily and mostly inside. J just LOVES them and J the dog does as well! I have been getting them to take to friends houses for play dates and I am thinking about getting them for all of J's buddies for Christmas. They run about $6 and the refill is about $3.50. You can save your Gymboree Bucks and stock up on this fun little goodie!
